UPDATED 20 OCTOBER 2026 · VISA & ENTRY
Start with nationality and residence
Open the official Saudi eVisa portal and check the current eligible-country list and application instructions. The portal describes its tourist eVisa as allowing tourism activities and Umrah, while excluding Hajj. Eligibility should be checked using the traveller’s actual passport and current circumstances.
Do not treat all visas as interchangeable
A tourist eVisa, dedicated Umrah visa, transit or stopover visa can have different conditions, application channels, fees and validity. A visa that permits one purpose may not fit another itinerary or date. Read the official terms and ask the relevant Saudi authority or authorized provider if the route is unclear.
Check timing and seasonal restrictions
Entry policies and pilgrimage arrangements may change around Hajj and other busy periods. Do not rely on an old screenshot, a past traveller’s experience or a general social media post. Recheck official information close to departure and make sure the visa is valid for the planned dates.
Keep a written record
Save the official application result, visa conditions, insurance details if applicable and the passport used to apply. Confirm that the name and passport details match the travel documents. This article is general planning information, not a visa decision or guarantee.
